As the Lighters Up events keep growing and evolving, Soul Shakers ‘d like to share some of the history and background stories with the audience. You might love the jams they play, but the rich narrative often gets lost in between all the festive eccentricity.
They’ll be taking you back in time to tell you all about the growth of Sound System culture, the prashing and terminology,... Some of the biggest names in the scene will be doing the talking! From Beljam, to London all the way to the heart of Kingston where it all started. They’ll be explaining the influence this culture has had on modern sounds like Drum and Bass, Grime and even some of the current mainstream bangers.
Keep an eye out and get in the know. Nothing says ‘netflix and chill’ like a good nightlife documentary!
